Lesson 6 of 7 · 10 min

Your plan and usage

Read your subscription, manage Document AI credits, and switch plans on the Billing page.

Lesson 6 of 7

The org-facing home for your subscription and Document AI usage is the Billing page. It shows your current plan, lets Owners switch plans, and tracks your Document AI credit balance and top-ups.

Before you start

  • Owner access to change the plan (the 'manage plan' permission is Owner-only); Managers can see day-to-day billing but not switch plans.

Where usage and plan live

Go to Settings › Billing (/app/settings/billing). The page shows your current plan and price, available plans you can switch to, your firm's default hourly rate, and a Document AI Credits section with your live credit balance and prepaid top-up packs. This is the org-facing surface — there is no separate 'resource dashboard' for normal firm users.

A note on 'resource dashboards'

A detailed resource-usage dashboard does exist, but it's a system-administrator tool (/admin/resources), not something firm Owners or Admins use. For your firm, plan limits, seats, and Document AI credit consumption are all read and managed from the Billing page above.

  1. 1

Open Billing and read your current plan

Open /app/settings/billing. The 'Current Plan' card shows your plan name, price, and subscription status (including trial expiry if you're on a trial). If you have an active subscription, 'Payment Methods & Invoices' opens the Stripe billing portal.

The Current Plan card is your firm's subscription at a glance.
  2. 2

    Compare and switch plans

The 'Available Plans' section lists each plan with its included seats and monthly Document AI credits, marking your current one and offering 'Switch Plan' on the others. Switching a plan is Owner-only and is completed through a secure Stripe checkout.

Available plans show seats and monthly credits; switching is Owner-only via Stripe.
  3. 3

Track Document AI credits and top up

The 'Document AI Credits' section shows your credit balance and explains how credits are counted. Prepaid credit packs offer 'Buy credits' (and optional automatic top-ups); the extraction quality selector here sets the firm default — Standard (1 credit/page, min 3) or Full (4 credits/page). Buying credits is completed through the same secure Stripe checkout.

Tips & pitfalls

  • Switching plans is Owner-only (the 'manage plan' permission is level 100); Managers get day-to-day billing but not plan changes.
  • Plan switches and credit top-ups are completed through a secure Stripe checkout.
  • The org-facing 'usage' surface is the Billing page. A full resource-usage dashboard exists only for system administrators at /admin/resources.

Key takeaways

  • Your subscription and Document AI usage live on the Billing page (/app/settings/billing).
  • Plan switching is Owner-only and runs through Stripe; the same goes for buying credit packs.
  • There's no firm-facing 'resource dashboard' — that's a system-admin-only page.
