Lesson 5 of 7 · 9 min
Organisation settings
Your firm's name, region, timezone, currency, and where branding actually lives.
Organisation Settings holds the firm-wide defaults that everything else builds on — your name, data region, timezone, and currency — plus a few operational sections. Some things people expect here (like your logo) actually live on dedicated branding pages, so this lesson also points you to the right place.
Before you start
- Admin or Owner access — Organisation Settings needs the 'manage org settings' permission (admin and above).
What lives here
At /app/settings/organization you set the organisation name and URL slug, primary practice area, team size, timezone, and currency. Further down are operational sections: Team Mode (leads/matters/both), intake routing and SLA defaults, a Document AI extraction mode, data residency, outbound email defaults, and invoice/billing identity. Timezone and currency flow through into calendars, billing, and automated communications.
Where branding really lives
This page has a single 'Logo URL' field (a link to a publicly reachable image, not a file upload). Your client-facing look — email header, signature, colours, footer — is configured in the Email Branding builder, linked from this page, not set here. There is no 'business hours' setting on this page; don't look for one.

1
Open Organisation Settings
Go to Settings and open Organisation Settings (/app/settings/organization). The form saves the core profile: Organisation Name, URL Slug, Primary Practice Area, Team Size, Timezone, and Currency. These are the defaults the rest of the platform reads.
Core firm profile: name, practice area, team size, timezone, and currency. -
2
Set your data region
The Data Residency section shows your current data region, with a 'Data residency' selector (Australia/Sydney is the default for Australian firms). Your region keeps your matter data, files, and AI processing in the same country — change it only in consultation with support, and before you've stored documents.

3
Find branding where it actually lives
Scroll to the 'Client email branding' section and click 'Open Email Branding Builder' to set your header, signature, logo, colours, and footer for client-facing email. The organisation page itself only carries a single 'Logo URL' link field; the richer branding is a separate system.
Client-facing branding lives in the Email Branding builder, linked from this page.
Tips & pitfalls
- There is no 'business hours' setting on Organisation Settings — it doesn't exist on this page.
- The logo here is a 'Logo URL' text field (a public image link), not a file upload; full email branding is a separate builder.
- Timezone and currency are firm-wide defaults — changing them affects date calculations, billing, and automated messages everywhere.
Key takeaways
- Organisation Settings (/app/settings/organization) holds name, region, timezone, and currency plus operational defaults.
- Data region controls where your matter data, files, and AI processing are stored — Sydney by default.
- Logo and client branding largely live on Email Branding, not this page; there's no business-hours setting.
